Daniel Pak serves on our Reimagine leadership team as Equipping Pastor and also serves on our Teaching Team. Daniel is a local boy, born and raised on O’ahu. Daniel was the youngest member of the initial core team that planted New Hope Town in 2011. That same year, he graduated from UH Manoa with a Bachelors in Travel Industry Management and landed his dream job as a Management Trainee at Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Waikiki. Shortly after that, he found himself at a crossroads — he was deeply involved with our church plant, but his next huge promotion prevented him from being able to serve at church on Sundays. After much prayer and wise counsel, he felt like God was calling him to leave his career behind and trust God to provide his next steps. Daniel left the hotel industry in 2012 and after working at a nonprofit for five months, he felt a strong calling to become a pastor. Through much prayer, fasting, and confirmation from his pastors, he applied for seminary and has been studying at Western Seminary for his Masters of Divinity since 2013 (he graduates in April 2018).
One of Daniel’s passions is preaching and teaching the word of God that has radically transformed his own life and always thanks God for the blessing and honor of preaching Christ and feeding/shepherding God’s flock. Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife Janice, sipping great coffee, nerding out on theology, sharing the gospel with “random” (but not random) people he meets, and creating memories with family and friends.
